ABOUT ME
I am a wife, a mother, and a lover of soil!
I grew up in a farming family and have always loved growing things, plants & animals alike. As an adult, I began to not love how damaged the soil on our family farm had become. By the time we stopped farming, our Centennial Farm could no longer grow anything, barely even weeds. The endless cycle of plowing and chemicals had depleted all the life out of it. There HAD to be a better way and I set out to find it. When I learned about regenerative farming, I knew I'd found the answer. No plowing, no chemicals, just animals doing the job God intended. We started our regenerative journey on a 5-acre patch of my family's farm, but as the years passed and industry surrounded us we knew we couldn't stay. We looked and looked and looked for land all over NC, but every one fell through. One afternoon, on a whim, my husband suggested we drive up to Meadows of Dan. As soon as I saw those rolling hills, I knew I was home...and as soon as I saw the lavender farm I knew we'd found the perfect spot. Like all things worth having, building the farm will take us a little time, but we are so grateful and excited to get started! Please follow along as we turn this dirt into soil!
Mission
Our mission is to turn dirt into soil! We accomplish this through rotationally grazing several species of animals and no till farming and gardening practices. Let's make our land healthy and productive again...one small farm at a time!
Vision
Our vision is of a farm where people can come to experience and learn about regenerative farming. Relax. Stay in our cabins. Hike the miles of trails through the woods on the farm. Experience the lavender fields. Enjoy the shop. Explore the Parkway and surrounding towns. Come! Join us as we work to bring this regenerative farm into reality. Our goal is to use the wisdom of the past to be able to share what farming and food should be...and will be again!
